# Content Conventions

## Product names

Always capitalise correctly:
- **SurrealDB** (not "surrealdb", "Surrealdb", or "Surreal DB")
- **SurrealQL** (not "surrealql" or "Surreal QL")
- **SurrealKV** (not "surrealkv" or "Surreal KV")
- **Surrealist** (not "surrealist" when referring to the product)
- **Surrealism** (not "surrealism" when referring to the product)
- **SurrealAI** (not "surrealai" or "Surreal AI")
- **SurrealML** (not "surrealml" or "Surreal ML")

## Formatting

- Use sentence case for headings ("Get started with SurrealDB", not "Get Started With SurrealDB").
- Use the Oxford comma in lists (e.g. "queries, mutations, and subscriptions").
- Use en dashes (–) for ranges, not hyphens.
- Dates should follow the format "18 February 2026" (day month year, no ordinal suffix).
