# British English

All user-facing text must use British English spelling.

Common corrections:

| optimize | optimise |
| organization | organisation |
| license (verb is fine) | licence (noun) |
| analyze | analyse |
| center | centre |
| favor | favour |
| modeling | modelling |
| customize | customise |
| behavior | behaviour |
| catalog | catalogue |
| defense | defence |

Use `-ise` over `-ize` (e.g. summarise, standardise, authorise).
Use `-our` over `-or` (e.g. colour, behaviour, neighbour).
Use `-re` over `-er` (e.g. centre, fibre, litre).
Use `-ogue` over `-og` (e.g. catalogue, dialogue).
Use `-ence` over `-ense` (e.g. defence, licence as noun).
