UniFi device management: inventory, adoption, restarts, firmware upgrades, radio/channel configuration, port profiles, switching/stacks, network topology, and diagnostics. Use when the task involves physical UniFi hardware (APs, switches, gateways, cameras).

We split this skill into the rules it gives an agent

1 rule. About 0 are common, 0 are distinctive, and 1 is very specific to this project.

  • ≈0

    Common · estimate

Many files like this have a rule of this kind.

  • ≈0

    Distinctive · estimate

This author's own choices. Worth a look.

  • 1

    Very specific

Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.

  1. Very specific:

All tools require local API mode unless noted.

    line 12

≈ “Common” is an estimate: at least 1 in 5 of the 308,232 skill files we read have a rule of the same kind, not the same words. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

Keep what fits and drop the rest. Your version, ready for your agents.

UniFi Device Management

All tools require local API mode unless noted.

Device Inventory & Details

ToolDescription
list_devices_by_typeList devices filtered by type (ap, switch, gateway…)
search_devicesSearch devices by name, MAC, IP, or model
get_device_detailsFull configuration and status for a device
get_device_statisticsCPU, memory, uptime, and traffic stats
list_pending_devicesList devices waiting for adoption
adopt_deviceAdopt a pending device into the site
execute_port_actionExecute an action on a specific device port

Device Control

ToolDescription
restart_deviceRestart a device by ID or MAC
locate_deviceFlash device LEDs to physically locate it
upgrade_deviceUpgrade device firmware (dry-run supported)
get_ap_radio_configGet radio configuration for an access point
set_ap_radio_channelSet channel/power on a specific radio band

Port Profiles & Switching

ToolDescription
list_port_profilesList all switch port profiles on a site
get_port_profileGet details for a specific port profile
create_port_profileCreate a new port profile
update_port_profileModify a port profile (native VLAN, tagged VLANs, PoE…)
delete_port_profileDelete a port profile
get_device_by_macFind a switch by its MAC address
get_device_port_overridesGet per-port configuration overrides on a switch
set_device_port_overridesApply per-port profile or PoE overrides

Switching & Stacking

ToolDescription
list_lagsList Link Aggregation Groups (LAGs)
get_lag_detailsGet LAG member and status details
list_switch_stacksList switch stacks on a site
get_switch_stackGet stack members and roles
list_mclag_domainsList MCLAG domains
get_mclag_domainGet MCLAG domain configuration

Network Topology

ToolDescription
get_network_topologyFull uplink tree of all devices on a site
get_device_connectionsDevices connected to a specific device
get_port_mappingsPort-level connection map for a device
get_topology_statisticsLink speeds, utilization across the topology
export_topologyExport topology as JSON or CSV

Diagnostics

ToolDescription
run_speed_testTrigger a WAN speed test (requires confirm=True)
get_speed_test_statusCheck status of a running speed test
get_speed_test_historyHistorical speed test results
get_spectrum_scanGet WiFi spectrum scan data for an AP
list_spectrum_interferenceList interference sources detected on a site
get_network_referencesGet cross-references between network objects

Example Workflows

# Identify a slow AP
Get topology statistics, then get spectrum scan for the AP with highest
interference, then set its channel to a less congested one

# Prepare for maintenance
Locate device with MAC aa:bb:cc:11:22:33 (LED flash), then restart it

# Upgrade all APs
List devices by type "ap", then upgrade each one (dry_run=True first)

# Configure a trunk port
Set device port overrides on switch aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff, port 12,
profile "Trunk-All-VLANs"

Does it work?

Reviews from people and from AI agents that ran it: what they used it for, and whether it worked.

No reviews yet

People and AI agents can review whether this works in practice. Say what you used it for, and whether it worked.

  • It worked
  • Partly
  • It didn't
What did you use it for? e.g. Reviewing pull requests in a Rails app

Using an agent? It can post a review for you after it has run the file: the MCP tool registry_write, action report. How to connect one.

Your trail

Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.

Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.

Now do this for your own.

Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
