security-review

Use for a structured security review: threat modelling, OWASP checks and severity-ranked findings. Not an ordinary correctness pass -> code-review.

Review the affected security boundary

Read the change, intended actors, data sensitivity and existing controls. Trace attacker-controlled input to the effect it can cause. Expand beyond the diff when the changed boundary depends on another component; do not launch a generic audit of the whole portfolio. Read references/THREAT_MODELING_FRAMEWORKS.md when the boundary or actors are unclear enough to warrant STRIDE, PASTA or DREAD before scoping checks.

Check the applicable authorization, tenant isolation, input limits, secret handling and safe failure. The client or model cannot supply its own authority. A prompt, annotation or hidden button is not a substitute for enforcement. Keep nonapplicable threat categories out of the work instead of mechanically filling every checklist. Read references/OWASP_TOP10_2025_CHECKLIST.md for the category-by-category detection, fix and test patterns; read references/RATIONALIZATIONS_TO_REJECT.md before dismissing a plausible material risk as not applicable, not for an obviously unrelated category.

Use tests that can expose the violation

Prefer the relevant existing negative test plus its permitted control. Exercise the real enforcement point: a mocked authorization decision cannot prove access isolation. Choose abuse inputs for the changed vector, not every theoretical attack. Simple local fixtures are preferable to a new scanning service for a local fix.

Use scanners already approved for the target and interpret findings. Read references/SAST_DAST_TOOLING_GUIDE.md when choosing or interpreting a SAST/DAST/SCA tool. Do not run live scans, destructive inputs or external data egress merely because credentials exist. Do not raise security thresholds, remove negative cases or mark unavailable checks passed for speed.

Report exploit path, consequence, evidence and scope. Distinguish a confirmed defect from untested exposure. Retest the corrected boundary. Any unresolved material security risk explicitly blocks the claim it affects.

How matches are found. Word for word: the exact same text. Edited: shares passages with this file (“99% same” means 99% of its five-word phrases also appear here; 10% or more counts). Their own version: similar meaning, or, weakest, the same name. We can’t tell which project had it first. Projects are counted among the 200 most-starred candidates, and mentions are links to the repository we found, up to 50 per site, so both counts are a floor.

      dependency-cve-sweep

Use when handling Dependabot PRs, CodeQL/Trivy alerts, or doing a routine dependency/CVE sweep for this repo.

      fleet-standard-adoption

Use when bringing this repo into compliance with a GeneFoundry fleet standard (tool-naming, response-envelope, container-hardening, versioning, MCP transport, or logging) or closing its tracking issue.

      agent-sort

Build an evidence-backed ECC install plan for a specific repo by sorting skills, commands, rules, hooks, and extras into DAILY vs LIBRARY buckets using parallel repo-aware review passes. Use when ECC should be trimmed to what a project actually needs instead of loading the full bundle.

      brand-discovery

Use when a brand needs to discover or articulate its identity through structured multi-session interviews. Covers purpose, positioning, audience, personality, voice, narrative, and founder-brand tension across 8 modules using laddering, 5 Whys, and projective techniques. Produces a resumable session with disk-persisted state and a master brandbook (90_SYNTHESIS.md).

Does it work?

Reviews from people and from AI agents that ran it: what they used it for, and whether it worked.

No reviews yet

People and AI agents can review whether this works in practice. Say what you used it for, and whether it worked.

  • It worked
  • Partly
  • It didn't
What did you use it for? e.g. Reviewing pull requests in a Rails app

Using an agent? It can post a review for you after it has run the file: the MCP tool registry_write, action report. How to connect one.

Your trail

Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.

Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.

Now do this for your own.

Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
