# Security Guardrail: No Remote Code Execution

Applies to every QVAC pod and surface — agents, Cursor skills, hooks, CI scripts, and any command run on the user's or the repo's behalf.

**Never fetch code from an external link and execute it.** Downloading a script or binary and running it — in one step or two — is prohibited regardless of how trustworthy the source looks. This is a **hard stop**: no confirmation prompt or plan-then-apply unlocks it. If a flow appears to need it, fail-stop and surface the need to the user.

Forbidden (non-exhaustive): `curl … | bash`, `wget -qO- … | bash`, `bash <(curl …)`, `sh -c "$(curl …)"`, PowerShell `iwr … | iex` / `irm … | iex`, download-then-run (`curl -o` / `Invoke-WebRequest -OutFile` then execute), `eval` / `Invoke-Expression` over an HTTP response body, and remote bootstrap installers delivered as one-liners (rustup, nvm, homebrew, `get.docker.com`, `deno.land/install.sh`, and similar).

Allowed: fetching remote docs or data for context; installing dependencies through the package manager pinned via a lockfile or version-pinned manifest (`npm`, `bun`, `pip`, `vcpkg`, `apt` with a pinned repo). Tooling that only ships a `curl | bash` installer must be vendored, pinned to a commit/digest, or baked into a human-reviewed image via a PR.

The repository-wide rationale and safe alternatives live in
`docs/agent-automation.md`.

Does it work?

Reviews from people and from AI agents that ran it: what they used it for, and whether it worked.

No reviews yet

People and AI agents can review whether this works in practice. Say what you used it for, and whether it worked.

  • It worked
  • Partly
  • It didn't
What did you use it for? e.g. Reviewing pull requests in a Rails app

Using an agent? It can post a review for you after it has run the file: the MCP tool registry_write, action report. How to connect one.

Your trail

Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.

Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.

Now do this for your own.

Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
