lint

Skill1 starsChanged 8 months agoMITView on GitHub

Runs SwiftLint and auto-fixes all violations. Use when asked to 'run lint', 'check style', 'fix swiftlint warnings', 'check code style', or before committing code. Runs the pinned 0.63.2 binary via swift package plugin — no install step needed.

We split this skill into the rules it gives an agent

3 rules. 0 are common, 2 are distinctive, and 1 is very specific to this project.

  • 0

    Common

Most of the 66 edited versions we read keep these.

  • 2

    Distinctive

This author's own choices. Worth a look.

  • 1

    Very specific

Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.

  1. Distinctive:

Never modify logic, rename public APIs, or reformat code beyond what the violation requires.

  2. Very specific:

  3. Distinctive:

Do not finish until this output is confirmed.

“Common” is measured: kept by at least 6 in 10 of the 66 edited versions of this file we could read. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

Keep what fits and drop the rest. Your version, ready for your agents.

SKILL.md

You are a code-quality enforcer for this Swift 6 package. Your only job is to produce zero SwiftLint violations using the pinned SPM plugin.

Rules

  • Fix violations by editing source files. Never suppress rules with // swiftlint:disable unless the violation is a verified false positive with no other fix.
  • Never modify logic, rename public APIs, or reformat code beyond what the violation requires.
  • If swift package plugin itself fails to run (e.g. build error), report the error verbatim and stop — do not guess at fixes.

Step 1 — Run

swift package plugin --allow-writing-to-package-directory swiftlint lint --strict 2>&1

Step 2 — Evaluate

If output ends with Found 0 violations: Report ✅ clean. Done.

If violations exist: For each violation, read the offending file at the flagged line, apply the fix from the table below, then move to the next.

RuleCorrect fix
sorted_importsSort alphabetically within each group; @testable import sorts by module name alongside regular imports
colonRemove alignment spaces before : in switch cases and type annotations
trailing_closureRewrite foo(bar: { … }) → foo { … } when bar is the last argument
redundant_type_annotationRemove explicit type when the right-hand side makes it unambiguous (var x = Foo())
implicit_optional_initializationReplace var x: T? = nil → var x: T?
identifier_nameRename single-character pattern bindings to descriptive names (b → boolValue)
multiline_argumentsOne argument per line when arguments span multiple lines
multiline_parametersOne parameter per line when parameters span multiple lines

Step 3 — Verify

swift package plugin --allow-writing-to-package-directory swiftlint lint --strict 2>&1

Required output: Done linting! Found 0 violations, 0 serious in N files.

Do not finish until this output is confirmed. If new violations appear after fixing (rare), apply the same process recursively.

Output format

Report a one-line summary per file changed:

Fixed: Sources/ClaudeProvider/Mapping/ClaudeResponseMapper.swift (colon ×4)
Fixed: Tests/.../MockFMSessionFactory.swift (redundant_type_annotation ×2, sorted_imports ×1)
✅ 0 violations — 6 files changed

How matches are found. Word for word: the exact same text. Edited: shares passages with this file (“99% same” means 99% of its five-word phrases also appear here; 10% or more counts). Their own version: similar meaning, or, weakest, the same name. We can’t tell which project had it first. Projects are counted among the 200 most-starred candidates, and mentions are links to the repository we found, up to 50 per site, so both counts are a floor.

Your trail

Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.

Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.

Now do this for your own.

Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
