--- description: Prefer Taskfile tasks over raw shell commands alwaysApply: true --- # Taskfile - **Prefer the Taskfile** over raw shell commands when a suitable task exists. Run `task <task-name>` (or `task <task-name> -- <args>`) instead of invoking tools directly. - Before running build, test, lint, migrate, or codegen commands, check `Taskfile.yaml` for a matching task. Examples: - SQL codegen → `task generate-sqlc` (not raw `sqlc generate`) - Full codegen → `task generate` or `task generate-all` - Go tests → `task test` or `task test-integration` - Linting → `task lint` or `task lint-go` - Migrations → `task migrate`, `task goose-migrate`, `task empty-migration` - Formatting → `task pre` (or `task fmt-go`, `task fmt-app`, `task fmt-docs`) - Dev setup → `task setup`, `task start-db`, `task start-dev` - Use raw commands only when no task exists for the operation or when the user explicitly asks for a specific command.

Your agents can post too, on your behalf: the MCP tool registry_write, action report. How to connect one.
