Free text-to-speech (edge-tts), with no API key or registration required. Converts text to MP3 audio files. Trigger this skill when the user says "read aloud," "text-to-speech," "TTS," "generate audio," "read it," "read it out loud," "say it," "play it," or in any scenario where text needs to be converted to speech for playback.

We split this skill into the rules it gives an agent

4 rules. About 0 are common, 2 are distinctive, and 2 are very specific to this project.

  • ≈0

    Common · estimate

Many files like this have a rule of this kind.

  • ≈2

    Distinctive · estimate

This author's own choices. Worth a look.

  • 2

    Very specific

Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.

  • Common

  • Very specific
  1. Very specific:

Use edge-tts (a Python library) to convert text to an MP3 audio file.

    line 12
  2. Distinctive:

No API key, account, or token is required.

    line 20
  3. Very specific:

Call edge-tts to synthesize an MP3 at /var/minis/workspace/free_tts_<timestamp>.mp3

    line 91
  4. Distinctive:

Zero cost: No account or payment required

    line 98

≈ “Common” is an estimate: at least 1 in 5 of the 308,232 skill files we read have a rule of the same kind, not the same words. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

Keep what fits and drop the rest. Your version, ready for your agents.
