forge-plan
Skill1 starsChanged 6 months agoMITView on GitHub
Takes analysis.json + budget cap → derives the full phase sequence, hyperparameters, instance type, cost estimate, and acceptance thresholds. Emits plan.md (the single human gate document) and plan.json (the machine-readable spec that dispatch-v2 consumes). Refuses to plan if estimated cost exceeds budget×1.2.
We split this skill into the rules it gives an agent
1 rule. 0 are common, 0 are distinctive, and 1 is very specific to this project.

Common
Most of the 6 edited versions we read keep these.
0
Distinctive
This author's own choices. Worth a look.
1
Very specific
Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.

Budget guardrail: if cost_total > budget × 1.2, exits with code 2 and writes plan-refused.md instead — operator must raise budget, …
“Common” is measured: kept by at least 6 in 10 of the 6 edited versions of this file we could read. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

When this fires
Phase position: PLAN — third skill fired by forge.sh, after PREFLIGHT and ANALYZE. The last thing that runs before the single human gate.
What it does
- Reads
analysis.json(from forge-analyze) + budget cap (from operator) - Picks base model from a budget-size ladder:
< $5→ Qwen2.5-0.5B (494M,lora-sft)< $50→ Qwen2.5-1.5B-Instruct (1.54B,lora-sft)< $100→ Qwen2.5-3B-Instruct (3.09B,lora-sft, r=16)≥ $100→ Qwen2.5-7B-Instruct (7.62B,qlora-sft4-bit, r=32)
- Picks instance + hyperparameters to fit the 24 GB VRAM ceiling of ca-central-1 GPUs:
- 0.5B → g5.xlarge, batch=4, seq=1024, no grad_ckpt
- 1.5B → g5.xlarge, batch=2, seq=512, grad_ckpt
- 3B → g5.2xlarge, batch=2, seq=1024, grad_ckpt
- 7B → g5.2xlarge + QLoRA, batch=2, seq=2048, grad_ckpt
- Computes
max_stepsfor ~2.5 epochs, capped at 1500 to prevent memorization - Estimates costs: Claude SYNTH (Haiku), PLAN_FIT grading (Sonnet), SMOKETEST probe (Haiku), GPU compute
- Estimates total wall-clock from per-phase timing heuristics
- Writes
plan.json+plan.md - Budget guardrail: if
cost_total > budget × 1.2, exits with code 2 and writesplan-refused.mdinstead — operator must raise budget, subsample corpus, or switch to a cheaper base
Inputs
$1= path to analysis.json$2= budget cap in USD (bare number)
Outputs
- Writes
slm-forge/.runs/<run-id>/plan.json— the machine-readable spec - Writes
slm-forge/.runs/<run-id>/plan.md— the human-readable gate document - On over-budget: writes
plan-refused.md, exits 2 - On success: prints the path to plan.md on stdout

How matches are found. Word for word: the exact same text. Edited: shares passages with this file (“99% same” means 99% of its five-word phrases also appear here; 10% or more counts). Their own version: similar meaning, or, weakest, the same name. We can’t tell which project had it first. Projects are counted among the 200 most-starred candidates, and mentions are links to the repository we found, up to 50 per site, so both counts are a floor.
Used alongsideProjects with it also use forge-build, forge-review and 1 more.
Other files people use alongside this one.
Files found in the same public projects as a version of this one, more often than they turn up anywhere else. Each project counts once, large collections count for less, and this file's own repository is left out.

Autonomous quality engineering swarm that forges production-ready code through continuous behavioral verification, exhaustive E2E testing, and self-healing fix loops. Combines DDD+ADR+TDD methodology with BDD/Gherkin specifications, 7 quality gates, defect prediction, chaos testing, and cross-context dependency awareness. Architecture-agnostic - works with monoliths, microservices, modular monoliths, and any bounded-context topology.

Your trail
Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.
Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.
Now do this for your own.
Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
