# GitHub issues → docs

## Classification

- Decide **bug** (broken behavior / crash / wrong output) vs **feature request**
  (new behavior or API). When unclear, default to **feature request** and note
  uncertainty in the doc.
- **Do not implement feature requests** under the bug-fix stabilization track
  unless the user explicitly expands scope. Still create/update
  docs/feature-requests/\*.md.

## File layout

- One markdown file per **unique** bug: docs/bugs/NNN-short-slug.md (primary
  GitHub number).
- One markdown file per **unique** feature:
  docs/feature-requests/NNN-short-slug.md; merge duplicate issues into one file
  and list every #.
- Keep docs/open-issues-inventory.md as an **index** linking to those files with
  a **type** column.

## Bug doc content

- Always record **reported-against version** (npm or git); mark unverified if
  unknown.
- Sections: user report, confirmed repro (or not), resolution changelog with
  **dates** and **fix version**, regression spec path or N/A.

## Feature doc content

- User ask, deduped issue numbers, status log; when implemented, add
  **Implemented in vX.Y.Z** with date.
