This skill provides guidance for creating effective skills. Skills are modular, self-contained packages that extend Gemini CLI's capabilities by providing specialized knowledge, workflows, and tools. Think of them as "onboarding guides" for specific domains or tasks—they transform Gemini CLI from a general-purpose agent into a specialized agent equipped with procedural knowledge that no model can fully possess. 1. Specialized workflows - Multi-step procedures for specific domains 2. Tool integrations - Instructions for working with specific file formats or APIs 3.…
These rules apply to all public contributions and interactions, no matter how they're done. The entity operating or authorizing the contributions and interactions is responsible for them. AI assistance does not relieve contributors of responsibility for their work. "The AI did it" is not an excuse. Violations may result in contributions being closed without further comment. Cases of deception, evasion, or repeat violations may result in account bans. Allowed: - All AI usage that remains non-public (e.g. questions, reviews, local…
Scope: This file configures agents working on the addyosmani/agent-skills repository itself. It is not meant to be copied into other projects or into a global agent configuration; the reusable assets are the skills in skills/, not this file. A collection of skills for Claude.ai and Claude Code for senior software engineers. Skills are packaged instructions and scripts that extend Claude and your coding agents capabilities. OpenCode uses a skill-driven execution model powered by the skill tool and this repository's /skills…

Specialist personas that play a single role with a single perspective. Each persona is a Markdown file consumed as a system prompt by your harness (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.). Three layers, each with a distinct job: The user (or a slash command) is the orchestrator. Personas do not call other personas. Skills are mandatory hops inside a persona's workflow. This is the only orchestration pattern this repo endorses. See references/orchestration-patterns.md for the full pattern catalog and anti-patterns. /ship is…
Guides stable API and interface design. Use when designing APIs, module boundaries, or any public interface. Use when creating REST or GraphQL endpoints, defining type contracts between modules, or establishing boundaries between frontend and backend.
Tests in real browsers via Chrome DevTools MCP. Use when building or debugging anything that runs in a browser. Use when you need to inspect the DOM, capture console errors, analyze network requests, profile performance, or verify visual output with real runtime data. Requires the chrome-devtools MCP server to be configured.
Conducts multi-axis code review. Use before merging any change. Use when reviewing code written by yourself, another agent, or a human. Use when you need to assess code quality across multiple dimensions before it enters the main branch. Use when asked to review a diff or a pull request, even when the diff is pasted inline.
Simplifies code for clarity. Use when refactoring code for clarity without changing behavior. Use when code works but is harder to read, maintain, or extend than it should be. Use when reviewing code that has accumulated unnecessary complexity.
Establishes a project's quality bar as a written contract and stops agents quietly lowering it. Interviews the user on which dimensions matter, supplies sane default thresholds when they have no number in mind, records everything in CONSTRAINTS.md, and watches the diff for a weakened bar — new @ts-ignore or eslint-disable suppressions, skipped or deleted tests, assertions stripped out, unimplemented stubs, thresholds edited down. Use when no quality bar is written down, when the user says "set up constraints" or "define our standards", when the user wants dimensions they care about — accessibility, web performance, coverage — set up as enforced constraints, when an agent keeps silencing checks or skipping tests to get to green, when you need a coverage or performance threshold and don't know what number to pick, or when an agent writes more code than anyone will read.
Manages deprecation and migration. Use when removing old systems, APIs, or features. Use when migrating users from one implementation to another. Use when migrating a database schema in production, such as renaming or dropping a column without downtime (expand/contract). Use when deciding whether to maintain or sunset existing code.
Plain text files in a repository that tell a coding agent how the project works: commands to run, conventions to follow and things to avoid. CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, cursor rules and skills are the common kinds.
CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md?
CLAUDE.md is read by Claude Code. AGENTS.md is an open format that Codex, Cursor and other agents read. Many projects keep one and point the other at it.
What is a skill?
A folder with a SKILL.md that describes one capability, such as filling PDFs or reviewing code. The agent loads it only when the task calls for it.
Can I search my own team's files too?
Your agents already can, over MCP, limited to the files you're allowed to read. Searching them from this page is coming.
