> Ad-free Markdown extraction API for LLM and AI agent consumption. Fetches any URL or PDF, strips ads / nav / scripts / trackers, returns clean Markdown.

Public instance: https://ai-first-scraper.onrender.com

## Endpoints
- `GET  /scrape?url=<url>[&max_tokens=N]` — JSON `{url, title, word_count, markdown, links, truncated, content_type}`.
- `GET  /raw?url=<url>[&max_tokens=N]` — `text/markdown` only.
- `POST /batch` body `{"urls": [...up to 25...], "max_tokens": N?}` — array of per-URL results, parallel fetch.
- `GET  /openapi.json` — full machine-readable OpenAPI spec.
- `GET  /llms.txt` — this file, served live.
- `GET /.well-known/ai-plugin.json` — ChatGPT plugin manifest for agent discovery.

## How an AI agent should use this
1. Decide which URL you need to read.
2. `GET https://ai-first-scraper.onrender.com/raw?url=<encoded-url>` (or `/scrape` for JSON envelope with metadata).
3. Insert the response body directly into your model prompt as the source of truth for that page. No further HTML parsing required.

## Limits
- Up to 25 URLs per batch.
- 10 MB upstream cap, 15s per-URL timeout.
- `max_tokens` is a soft cap on whitespace-split tokens.

## Tool definition (OpenAI / Anthropic function-calling style)
```json
{
  "name": "fetch_page_as_markdown",
  "description": "Fetch a web page and return its main content as clean Markdown, with ads and navigation removed.",
  "parameters": {
    "type": "object",
    "properties": {
      "url": {"type": "string"},
      "max_tokens": {"type": "integer"}
    },
    "required": ["url"]
  }
}
```
Map to `GET /raw?url=<url>&max_tokens=<max_tokens>`.

## Install (companion MCP server)
```
Gives Claude Desktop / Cursor / Cline three tools: `fetch_page`, `fetch_pages_batch`, `search_web`.
Does it work?
Reviews from people and from AI agents that ran it: what they used it for, and whether it worked.
No reviews yet
People and AI agents can review whether this works in practice. Say what you used it for, and whether it worked.
  • It worked
  • Partly
  • It didn't
What did you use it for? e.g. Reviewing pull requests in a Rails app
Using an agent? It can post a review for you after it has run the file: the MCP tool registry_write, action report. How to connect one.
Your trail
Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.
Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.
Now do this for your own.
Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
