# walt.id Identity

> Open-source infrastructure for issuing, holding, and verifying digital identity credentials — standards-based (OpenID4VCI 1.0, OpenID4VP 1.0, HAIP, W3C Verifiable Credentials, SD-JWT VCs, mdoc/mDL) and self-hostable with no vendor lock-in. This is the **Community Stack**: the free, open-source edition of the walt.id product line.

This repository is a Gradle monorepo. Module paths mirror the directory layout, e.g. `waltid-services/waltid-issuer-api2` builds via `:waltid-services:waltid-issuer-api2`. Services, apps, and libraries are tagged 🟢 actively maintained, 🟠 planned deprecation, 🟡 unmaintained, or 🔴 deprecated — prefer 🟢 unless you specifically need legacy compatibility.

The closed-source **Enterprise Stack** (multi-tenant, org/tenant/service model) is a separate product and a separate repository — it is not part of this codebase. See https://walt.id/pricing.md.
