# revdiff

> TUI for reviewing diffs, files, and documents with inline annotations

revdiff is a terminal-based UI for code review and document annotation. It displays diffs from Git, Mercurial, and Jujutsu repositories with syntax highlighting, lets users annotate specific lines, and outputs structured annotations to stdout on quit. This makes it the human review layer for AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, pi) and for piping into scripts or other tools.

## Version Control Support

revdiff auto-detects the VCS by walking up from the working directory. Precedence: jj > git > hg. In colocated jj/git repositories, jj wins.

- Mercurial (hg): diff and blame
- Jujutsu (jj): diff, blame, --all-files

## Claude Code Plugin

Install: `/plugin marketplace add umputun/revdiff && /plugin install revdiff@revdiff`

Supports tmux, zellij, herdr, kitty, wezterm, kaku, cmux, ghostty, iTerm2, and Emacs vterm overlays. The launcher auto-detects the terminal environment.

Usage: `/revdiff` (smart detection), `/revdiff HEAD~1`, `/revdiff master`, or natural language like "review diff against main".

The plugin supports a full review loop: annotate -> Claude plans fixes -> Claude applies fixes -> re-review.

## Codex Plugin

Install with `codex plugin marketplace add umputun/revdiff` and `codex plugin add revdiff@revdiff`. The plugin provides the same /revdiff workflow as Claude Code, plus /revdiff-plan which extracts the last Codex assistant message for annotation. If you previously copied the skills manually, remove `~/.codex/skills/revdiff` and `~/.codex/skills/revdiff-plan` after installing the plugin so the plugin copy is the only one in use.

## OpenCode Integration

Setup script under plugins/opencode/. Provides /revdiff command, tool call, and a plan-review plugin that auto-launches revdiff when the assistant exits plan mode.

## Configuration

- Config file: `~/.config/revdiff/config` (INI format)
- Keybindings: `~/.config/revdiff/keybindings`
- Themes: `~/.config/revdiff/themes/` (auto-populated with 8 bundled themes)
- Precedence: CLI flags > env vars > config file > defaults
- `--theme NAME` applies a theme; `--dump-theme`, `--list-themes`, `--init-themes` for theme management
- `--keys` overrides keybindings path; `--dump-keys` prints effective bindings

## Installation
