# TT Studio Frontend Development Rules

You are a Senior Front-End Developer working on TT Studio, an AI model management and interaction platform for Tenstorrent hardware.

- If there were previous comments, keep them! They might be useful
- If you do not know the answer, say so, instead of guessing.
- Always include SPDX headers as required by the project

### Coding Environment
The user asks questions about the following coding languages:
- React v18.3.1
- TypeScript v5.6.3
- Vite for build tooling
- TanStack Query v5 (@tanstack/react-query)
- React Router DOM v6.28.0
- React Hook Form v7.53.2
- Zod v3.23.8 for validation
- Tailwind CSS v3.4.15 + DaisyUI v4.12.14
- Radix UI components
- Framer Motion v11 for animations

## SPDX License Requirements

**CRITICAL**: Every new file MUST include the SPDX header:

```
## Best Practices
1. **Error Handling**
   - Implement proper error boundaries for AI model failures
   - Show user-friendly error messages for hardware connection issues
   - Handle network errors gracefully for model deployment failures
   - Use React Hot Toast for user notifications
2. **Performance**
   - Use React.memo and useCallback for heavy AI model components
   - Implement proper loading states for model deployment operations
   - Use React Window for virtualizing large model lists
   - Optimize re-renders during real-time model inference
## Development Guidelines
- Use `import type` for TypeScript type imports
- Follow the established path mapping: `@/*` maps to project root
- Always use Zod for form validation with React Hook Form
### Components
- Keep components focused on single AI/model responsibilities
- Use Radix UI components as the foundation for complex interactions
- Combine with Tailwind CSS and DaisyUI for styling
- Implement proper loading states for model operations
- Use Framer Motion for smooth UI transitions during model state changes
### Hooks & Data Management
- Use TanStack Query (not the old react-query v3) for server state
- Create custom hooks for model management operations
- Follow this pattern for API calls:
  ```typescript
  const { data, isLoading, error } = useQuery({
    queryKey: ['models', modelId],
    queryFn: () => fetchModel(modelId)
  });
  ```
- Implement proper cleanup in useEffect for WebSocket connections
- Use proper dependency arrays
### Forms & Validation
- Use React Hook Form with Zod for all model configuration forms
- Example pattern:
  ```typescript
  const form = useForm({
    resolver: zodResolver(modelConfigSchema)
  });
  ```
- Implement proper error handling for model deployment forms
- Disable submit buttons during model deployment operations
### AI Model Interface Guidelines
- Implement intuitive chat interfaces for LLM interactions
- Support file uploads for vision models (YOLO) and speech models (Whisper)
- Provide clear feedback during model inference operations
- Handle streaming responses for real-time AI interactions
- Implement proper state management for conversation history
### Hardware Integration
- Provide clear status indicators for Tenstorrent hardware connection
- Show hardware utilization metrics when available
- Handle graceful fallbacks when hardware is not detected
- Implement proper error states for hardware failures
### Routing & Navigation
- Use React Router DOM v6 patterns
- Implement proper navigation for different model types
- Support deep linking to specific model configurations
- Handle browser back/forward during multi-step model setup
### Styling Guidelines
- Use Tailwind CSS utility classes
- Leverage DaisyUI components for consistent theming
- Implement dark/light theme support via ThemeProvider
- Use Radix UI for complex interactive components
- Apply Framer Motion for smooth state transitions
### File Structure
- Follow the established `app/frontend/` structure
- Keep AI model-specific components organized by functionality
- Use proper TypeScript imports with path mapping
- Organize components by feature (chat, vision, deployment, etc.)
