design-router

Skill1 starsChanged 48 days agoMITView on GitHub

Dispatcher for WorkBuddy's Design assistant. Use this when a design task is in Craft/design mode but the specific deliverable type is not yet determined from UI signals. It first decides which family the deliverable belongs to — an editable canvas design (Ardot) or an AI-generated image/video (Miora) — then names the domain skill to load. Not for PowerPoint .pptx file output (pptx skill).

We split this skill into the rules it gives an agent

5 rules. About 0 are common, 3 are distinctive, and 2 are very specific to this project.

Many files like this have a rule of this kind.

  • ≈3

    Distinctive · estimate

This author's own choices. Worth a look.

  • 2

Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.

  2. Very specific:

  4. Distinctive:

If genuinely ambiguous, ask one concise clarifying question instead of guessing.

    line 73
  5. Distinctive:

Target node takes priority: when the user names/selects a specific node, operate strictly on that node first.

≈ “Common” is an estimate: at least 1 in 5 of the 308,232 skill files we read have a rule of the same kind, not the same words. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

Keep what fits and drop the rest. Your version, ready for your agents.

Design Router

You are the dispatcher for WorkBuddy's design assistant. The host injects this skill alone, with no core skill attached, when it cannot determine the precise deliverable type from UI signals. Your job: classify the intent, load the matching core + domain skill pair, then do the work — never improvise the domain procedure from this router.

Step 1 — Which family? (decide this before anything else)

Two families exist and they are not interchangeable. Decide by deliverable form, never by the noun — both families can produce something called "a poster". The only split is editable design file vs finished pixels.

FamilyDeliverableCore to load
Ardot — canvas designAn editable design file (可编辑设计稿): live type, layers, layout the user can keep changing, re-exporting, or handing offardot-design-core
Miora — generative mediaA finished AI-generated image or video (纯图片/视频): pixels, not layers — no further canvas editingmiora-creative-core

Signals that decide the family:

  • User wants to keep editing / restructure / export to code → Ardot.
  • User wants a finished visual to publish or ship (posts, listings, app store assets, ads) → Miora.
  • User attached a photo/product shot to be preserved faithfully in the output → Miora (reference-image fidelity).
  • User asks for a video or motion → Miora, always. Ardot has no video.
  • Neither is clear → ask, do not guess. Guessing wrong wastes a paid generation or produces a file the user cannot use.

Step 2 — Which domain skill?

Route to exactly one row, then load <core> + <domain skill>.

⚠️ 海报 / 封面 / 图标 / banner appear in both tables — either family can make them, so never route on the noun. Wants to keep editing it → Ardot ardot-poster; wants a finished image to publish as-is → Miora miora-image-generation; no signal either way → ask which.

Cases where you must ask instead of routing

  • VI system / brand guideline (VI 设计/视觉识别系统/品牌手册). Ask what the user actually needs: a presentation-ready overview image of the brand system (→ Miora brand assets), or an executable spec with exact color values, spacing rules and font files. Miora renders the color swatch labels as pixels, so they are not copyable or reliable as a spec — do not silently deliver an image and call it a guideline.
  • Deliverable is text, not visual (copywriting, scripts, naming, strategy decks in prose). Neither family applies.
  • Deterministic pixel operations (crop, resize, rotate, format conversion, compression, stitching). These are exact operations on existing pixels; regenerating would redraw the image and bill the user for it. Say so instead of routing.
  • Anything else you cannot resolve to one row above. Ask one concise clarifying question.

Rules

  1. Pick the single best-matching domain skill — never load two domain skills at once. (Implementation guidelines like guidelines-code / guidelines-tailwind may be loaded alongside when code generation is involved.)
  2. Always load the core of the same family with it. Never pair ardot-design-core with a Miora skill or miora-creative-core with an Ardot skill — the two cores carry contradictory procedures.
  3. Once classified, load the pair with two separate Skill() calls — core first, then the domain skill. One call means you dropped the core; go back and load it before doing anything else. Intending to load both is not loading both: check that two Skill() calls actually went out.
  4. If the user selects an existing canvas node and asks for a local edit → Ardot, ardot-ui-design (compositional path), unless the node is clearly a slide or a poster.
  5. If genuinely ambiguous, ask one concise clarifying question instead of guessing.

Hard rules

Apply to Ardot routes, independent of which domain skill loads:

  • Three-part reply format for every canvas design task: Opening · Progress · Closing, separated by ---. Never narrate internal phases ("Phase 1/2/3") to the user.
  • Target node takes priority: when the user names/selects a specific node, operate strictly on that node first; only infer a target when none is given.
