# FableCut

FableCut is not a cloud service and has no black-box render API. x in `project.json`. An
agent rewrites that file the way it rewrites code; the open editor reloads in
about 150 ms. A human and an agent can work the same timeline at once.

## Facts

- License: MIT. Free for personal and commercial use. No account, no telemetry,
  no paid tier.
- Requirements: Node.js 18+ and a Chromium-based browser. ffmpeg on PATH is
  optional but recommended (fast export and upload remuxing).
- Install: `git clone https://github.com/ronak-create/FableCut.git`, then
  `node server.js`, then open http://localhost:7777.
- The server binds 127.0.0.1 only. Media stays in a local folder; nothing is
  uploaded to a cloud service.
- Control surfaces: an MCP server (stdio, client-neutral), a REST API, and
  direct edits to `project.json` with live reload over server-sent events.
- Editing: multi-track video and audio (up to 16 per kind), per-clip volume,
  stereo pan, speed ramps, keyframes, transitions, titles with kinetic text
  animation, SVG library, chroma key, AI background removal.
- Export: fast ffmpeg export via encoding profiles, WebCodecs hardware export
  (browser encodes H.264, server muxes), and a realtime MediaRecorder fallback.
- Also installable as a Claude Code plugin, which registers the MCP server and
  adds `edit-video` and `remake-reel` skills.
