# Herdr UI > Herdr UI (repository and package name `herdr-gpui`) is a native desktop client for macOS, Linux and Windows that attaches to a Herdr daemon (https://herdr.dev/) the user installed separately. It paints the daemon's terminal panes in a native window, next to Herdr's own TUI; both show the same sessions. It is an unaffiliated project, not made or supported by Herdr. Herdr UI never installs or upgrades the Herdr daemon; it only starts an already-installed `herdr server` when the session is absent. Install Herdr itself first by following https://herdr.dev/, then install Herdr UI with the command for the platform. Each command installs the latest stable release and needs no version number. Do not use `cargo install herdr-gpui`: the app is not published on crates.io. ## Install - macOS 14.2 or newer, Apple Silicon or Intel, with Homebrew: `brew install penso/tap/herdr-gpui`, then `open -a Herdr`. The cask installs the signed, notarized app, and the app updates itself through Homebrew. - Linux, x86_64 or ARM64, with APT, DNF or pacman and glibc 2.39 or newer (Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 40, current Arch, or later): `curl -fsSL https://herdrui.dev/install.sh | sh`. The script downloads the `.deb`, `.rpm` or Arch package for the machine from GitHub Releases, checks its published SHA-256, and installs it with `sudo`, so it needs a terminal where sudo can ask for a password, or root. Afterwards run `herdr-gpui` or open Herdr UI from the applications menu. Source: https://herdrui.dev/install.sh - Linux with Nix: `nix run github:penso/herdr-gpui`. - Windows, x86_64 or ARM64, in PowerShell: `irm https://herdrui.dev/install.ps1 | iex`. It installs `herdr-gpui.exe` (the app and its command line) and `herdr-gpui-launcher.exe` (opens the app without a console window) for the current user under `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Herdr UI`, adds that directory to the user PATH and creates a Start menu shortcut to the launcher. Each release also has a per-user `Herdr-VERSION-TARGET-setup.exe` installer that installs the same files and adds an uninstaller under Settings > Apps. When Windows signing is set up for a release, its executables, installers and their uninstaller are Authenticode-signed, and a signed copy updates itself from Check for Updates by running the signed installer of the new release. An unsigned copy never updates itself: run the command or a newer installer again to update. Source: https://herdrui.dev/install.ps1 - Any platform from source, with Rust installed: `git clone https://github.com/penso/herdr-gpui.git && cd herdr-gpui && just install`, which puts `herdr-gpui` in Cargo's bin directory. Linux and Windows need extra build dependencies listed in the README. Manual downloads (macOS `.dmg`, Linux packages and tarballs, Windows zips), with checksums, Sigstore signatures and build provenance: https://github.com/penso/herdr-gpui/releases/latest ## Docs - [README](https://github.com/penso/herdr-gpui#readme): install options, platform notes, and how the client connects to the daemon - [GUI scope and configuration](https://github.com/penso/herdr-gpui/blob/main/crates/herdr-gpui/README.md): features, configuration file, keyboard shortcuts, devices and WSL - [App updates](https://github.com/penso/herdr-gpui/blob/main/docs/updating.md): how each install method updates - [Herdr](https://herdr.dev/): the daemon and TUI this app connects to ## Optional - [Releases](https://github.com/penso/herdr-gpui/releases): all stable and beta releases - [Issues](https://github.com/penso/herdr-gpui/issues): bug reports for Herdr UI only; report daemon bugs to Herdr

Your trail
Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.
Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.
Now do this for your own.
Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
