## What is PEAC

PEAC Protocol provides cryptographically signed, offline-verifiable interaction records for automated interactions.

The current signed wire artifact is a compact JWS using Ed25519 signatures. Records can be verified offline with the issuer's public key or a pinned JWKS.

PEAC does not orchestrate protocols, control systems, or enforce behavior. It records neutral evidence of what terms applied and what happened so another party can verify it outside the system that produced it.

## Quick Start

- Install the MCP server: `npx -y @peac/mcp-server`
- Verify offline from the CLI: `pnpm dlx @peac/cli samples generate -o ./s` then `pnpm dlx @peac/cli verify ./s/valid/basic-record.jws --public-key ./s/bundles/sandbox-jwks.json` (prints `Signature valid (offline).`)
- Verify a record over MCP: start the MCP server, then call `peac_verify` with a JWS and public key
- Issue a record: use `@peac/protocol` with `issue()` and an Ed25519 signing key

## Key Packages

- `@peac/kernel`: normative constants, error codes, and type definitions
- `@peac/schema`: validation schemas for interaction records and evidence extensions
- `@peac/crypto`: Ed25519 signing and verification
- `@peac/protocol`: high-level issue and verify API
- `@peac/mcp-server`: MCP server for record verification, inspection, issuance, and bundles
- `@peac/cli`: command-line tools for issuing, verifying, and recording interactions

## Integration Surfaces

- MCP: `@peac/mcp-server`
- HTTP: `PEAC-Receipt` response header carries a compact JWS
- A2A: `@peac/mappings-a2a`
- ACP: `@peac/mappings-acp` for Agentic Commerce Protocol evidence
- UCP: `@peac/mappings-ucp`
- x402: `@peac/adapter-x402`
- Content signals: `@peac/mappings-content-signals`
- OpenAI-compatible inference: `@peac/adapter-openai-compatible`
- Evidence Carrier Contract: common carry interface across supported protocol surfaces
