paladini/mcp-me/llms.txt

Your AI assistants don't know who you are. mcp-me fixes that. mcp-me is a digital identity layer for AI. It creates a structured personal profile (bio, career, skills, interests, projects) that any AI assistant can read via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Works with Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, and any MCP-compatible tool. All data stays local — nothing is sent to any cloud. One-click: Cursor and VS Code install badges in README. Claude Desktop: download .mcpb from GitHub Releases.

mcp-me is a digital identity layer for AI.

## Key Facts

- **329 generators** that auto-populate profile YAML files from public APIs (GitHub, GitLab, Medium, Strava, AniList, Duolingo, and hundreds more)
- **13 built-in plugins** providing real-time data to AI assistants (Spotify now playing, GitHub repos, Last.fm scrobbles, Steam games, etc.)
- **YAML-based profiles** with 8 categories: identity, career, skills, interests, personality, goals, projects, faq
- **MCP native** — works with any MCP-compatible AI assistant (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot)
- **Zero-config default** — profile stored in `~/.mcp-me`; override with `MCP_ME_PROFILE_DIR`
- **One-click install** — Cursor deeplink, VS Code MCP install, Claude Desktop `.mcpb` bundle
- **Plugin ecosystem** — community plugins via npm (`mcp-me-plugin-*`), local file plugins, or built-in
- **Config-driven** — `.mcp-me.yaml` dotfile separates configuration from profile data

## Installation

```bash
npm install -g mcp-me            # Install globally
mcp-me init                      # Create profile in ~/.mcp-me
mcp-me generate                  # Generate from APIs
mcp-me serve                     # Start MCP server
```

One-click: Cursor and VS Code install badges in README. Claude Desktop: download `.mcpb` from GitHub Releases.
