# MUSE repository instructions

Communicate in the user-selected language. Check relevant skills before changing
code. Read files in bounded sections and verify actual behavior before claiming
completion. Preserve user-owned changes and confidential material.

This repository distributes MUSE. Continuity source is
`skills/core/muse-commands/SKILL.md`; installation is `scripts/install.sh`.
Use `docs/CONTINUITY.md` or `docs/CONTINUITY_CN.md` for public usage. Project-specific
roles, goals and authorization come from the user's actual configuration and
request, not historical author role snapshots embedded in this file.

For MUSE runtime dependency checks, use `muse-commands` and its
`references/RUNTIME_DEPENDENCIES.md` before diagnosing interpreter mismatches.

Preserve the selected role/Lane. Save meaningful deltas; at observed context 80%,
save, compact if possible, verify and continue. Unknown occupancy stays unknown.
Do not force Bye or a new conversation because of a percentage. Formal Bye is an
explicit closeout with declared evidence. A CLOSED Lane retains its reopen rules.

The agent derives task goals, constraints and acceptance checks; do not make the
user fill a recovery template. Keep working through authorized steps until done
or genuinely blocked. Never confuse an installer/helper PASS with product QA.
