> A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server providing contemplative reasoning using the Lotus Sutra's wisdom framework.

## What This Is

An MCP server whose main tool, `lotuswisdom`, facilitates structured contemplation through wisdom domains. The tool processes your thinking internally and tracks your journey across different modes of understanding. A companion `lotuswisdom_summary` tool reports the journey so far. Both return structured output (`structuredContent`) alongside text. They do not modify user files or external business data; local stdio calls update the in-memory journey, and the hosted worker records usage analytics.

## How To Use

1. Begin with `tag='begin'` and non-empty `content` to receive the full framework (philosophy, domains, guidance)
2. Continue with contemplation tags: open, examine, direct, integrate, express, etc.
3. The tool returns journey tracking and domain movements
4. When `status='WISDOM_READY'` is returned, speak the final wisdom naturally in your own voice

In stateless clients (e.g. the remote Worker, where no session is kept), pass the `journey` string from the previous response forward as `previousJourney` to preserve continuity.

The minimal initial call is `{"tag":"begin","content":"The question to contemplate"}`. `stepNumber`, `totalSteps`, and `nextStepNeeded` default to `1`, `5`, and `true`; supply them explicitly as the inquiry progresses. The full `begin` framework appears in the text response, while its structured output contains status, welcome, and contemplation fields.

## Wisdom Domains and Tags

- **Entry**: `begin` - Start here to receive framework
- **Process Flow**: `open`, `engage`, `express` - Natural arc of inquiry
- **Skillful Means**: `upaya`, `expedient`, `direct`, `gradual`, `sudden` - Different approaches to truth
- **Non-Dual Recognition**: `recognize`, `transform`, `integrate`, `transcend`, `embody` - Awakening to what's present
- **Meta-Cognitive**: `examine`, `reflect`, `verify`, `refine`, `complete` - Mind watching understanding unfold
- **Meditation**: `meditate` - Pause for insight to emerge

## MCP Prompts

Two prompts scaffold a guided session:

- **`contemplate`** (arg: `question`) - opens a single-question contemplation
- **`deep-inquiry`** (arg: `topic`) - a longer inquiry moving deliberately across domains (process → meta-cognitive → non-dual → meditation)

## Key Principles

- Tags are not rigid steps but aspects of wisdom that interpenetrate
- Each step contains all others - recognition IS transformation
- Trust what each moment calls for; the path reveals itself in walking
- The tool handles contemplation; you handle expression

## When To Use

- Complex problems requiring multi-perspective understanding
- Questions where contradictions need integration
- Situations needing both analytical and intuitive understanding
- Problems that benefit from meditative pauses
- Questions containing their own inherent wisdom

## Transports

- **Local (stdio)**: the npm package `lotus-wisdom-mcp`, run via `npx`. In-memory journey state per process.
- **Remote (Streamable HTTP)**: a hosted, stateless Worker at `https://lotus-wisdom-mcp.linxule.workers.dev/mcp`. No API key. Continuity is client-driven via `previousJourney`.

## Installation

Local stdio config (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lotus-wisdom": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "lotus-wisdom-mcp"]
    }
  }
}
```

One-liners:

```bash
# Claude Code (local stdio)
claude mcp add lotus-wisdom -- npx -y lotus-wisdom-mcp
# Claude Code (remote Worker)
claude mcp add --transport http lotus-wisdom https://lotus-wisdom-mcp.linxule.workers.dev/mcp
```
