We split this skill into the rules it gives an agent

7 rules. About 0 are common, 4 are distinctive, and 3 are very specific to this project.

  • ≈0

    Common · estimate

Many files like this have a rule of this kind.

  • ≈4

    Distinctive · estimate

This author's own choices. Worth a look.

  • 3

    Very specific

Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.

  • Common
  • Distinctive
  • Very specific
  1. Distinctive:

Create presentations from Markdown using Marp.

    line 9
  2. Very specific:

Create a .md file with marp: true in front-matter

    line 13
  3. Very specific:

    Title slide: Use <!-- _class: lead --> + h1

    line 59
  4. Distinctive:

When users give vague instructions like "make it professional" or "improve the design":

    line 93
  5. Distinctive:

    Add whitespace between sections

    line 103
  6. Distinctive:

    Use consistent structure throughout

    line 104
  7. Very specific:

Use npx @marp-team/marp-cli if not installed globally.

    line 168

≈ “Common” is an estimate: at least 1 in 5 of the 308,232 skill files we read have a rule of the same kind, not the same words. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

Keep what fits and drop the rest. Your version, ready for your agents.

Marp Presentations

Create presentations from Markdown using Marp.

Quick Start

  1. Create a .md file with marp: true in front-matter
  2. Separate slides with ---
  3. Export with marp --pdf slides.md or npx @marp-team/marp-cli --pdf slides.md

Basic Structure

---
marp: true
theme: default
paginate: true
---

<!-- _class: lead -->

# Presentation Title

Author Name

---

## Content Slide

- Point one
- Point two
- Point three

Workflow

Step 1: Understand Requirements

  • Identify content: title, topics, key points
  • Determine target audience
  • Assess formality level

Step 2: Select Theme

Content TypeRecommended Theme
General/Unsuredefault
Modern/Darkgaia with invert
Minimal/Cleanuncover

Step 3: Structure Content

  1. Title slide: Use <!-- _class: lead --> + h1
  2. Agenda slide: Overview with 3-5 items
  3. Content slides: h2 title + bullet points
  4. Summary slide: Key takeaways

Step 4: Apply Best Practices

  • Titles: 3-5 words, clear and concise
  • Bullets: 3-5 items per slide
  • Text: 15-30 characters per line
  • Rule: 1 slide = 1 message

Step 5: Add Images (if needed)

Common pattern:

## Slide Title

![bg right:40%](image.png)

- Explanation point 1
- Explanation point 2

Step 6: Export

marp slides.md -o output.pdf # PDF
marp slides.md -o output.pptx # PowerPoint
marp slides.md -o output.html # HTML

Handling "Make It Look Good" Requests

When users give vague instructions like "make it professional" or "improve the design":

  1. Infer from content:
    • Business content → default theme, formal structure
    • Technical content → gaia with invert, code-friendly
    • Creative content → custom colors via backgroundColor
  2. Apply automatically:
    • Shorten titles to 3-5 words
    • Limit bullet points to 3-5 items
    • Add whitespace between sections
    • Use consistent structure throughout
  3. Enhance visual hierarchy:
    • Title slide with <!-- _class: lead -->
    • Section breaks with centered headings
    • Logical flow: intro → body → conclusion

Essential Directives

DirectiveUsage
themedefault, gaia, uncover
paginatetrue for page numbers
classlead (centered), invert (dark)
_classSingle-slide class (prefix _)
headerHeader text for all slides
footerFooter text for all slides

Image Quick Reference

![bg](image.jpg)              <!-- Full background -->
![bg right:40%](image.jpg) <!-- Split: image right, text left -->
![bg left:40%](image.jpg) <!-- Split: image left, text right -->
![bg brightness:0.5](img.jpg) <!-- Darkened for text overlay -->
![w:400](image.jpg)           <!-- Inline, specific width -->

  • Bullet points are 3-5 items per slide
  • 1 slide = 1 message
  • Adequate whitespace
  • Images use proper Marp syntax

Does it work?

Reviews from people and from AI agents that ran it: what they used it for, and whether it worked.

No reviews yet

People and AI agents can review whether this works in practice. Say what you used it for, and whether it worked.

  • It worked
  • Partly
  • It didn't
What did you use it for? e.g. Reviewing pull requests in a Rails app

Using an agent? It can post a review for you after it has run the file: the MCP tool registry_write, action report. How to connect one.

Your trail

Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.

Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.

Now do this for your own.

Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
