# C conventions

- Includes: `"local.h"` for project headers, `<stdint.h>` / `<stddef.h>` for
  compiler headers. Host tests that `#include` a production `.c` must include
  stub headers first so include guards shadow firmware headers.
- Include guards: `FILENAME_H` is the first content. File-level comments go
  inside the guard. Close with `#endif /* FILENAME_H */`.
- Firmware uses `ptr == 0` (no `NULL`).
- Unsigned literals take a `U` suffix. Signed `int` flags stay `0`.
