Full automation and AI services department: workflow automation, chatbots, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation, third-party integrations, prompt engineering, conversational voice AI agents, real-time event streaming, and multi-channel alert routing — routed through eleven modes. Use when asked to automate a manual process, build a chatbot or AI assistant, design an agent or RAG pipeline, stream real-time events via WebSockets/SSE, route real-time alerts across Slack/Discord/Telegram, connect systems via APIs/webhooks, engineer prompts, or deploy voice AI agents with telephony. Not for hosting/CI (devops) or data tracking (analytics).
We split this skill into the rules it gives an agent
5 rules. 0 are common, 5 are distinctive, and 0 are very specific to this project.
0
Common
Most of the 8 edited versions we read keep these.
5
Distinctive
This author's own choices. Worth a look.
0
Very specific
Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.
- Common
- Distinctive
- Very specific
- Distinctive: line 38
Every invocation resolves to exactly one mode.
- Distinctive: line 53
Only the resolved mode's reference is loaded — the rest stay on disk, saving tokens on every run.
- Distinctive: line 124
No failure handling (silent failures and duplicate actions).
- Distinctive: line 125
No owner or off-switch for a running automation.
- Distinctive: line 127
No evaluation set — shipping on vibes.
“Common” is measured: kept by at least 6 in 10 of the 8 edited versions of this file we could read. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

🤖 automation — Automation & AI Services Department
One head skill for automation and AI. Automate the boring, keep humans on judgment. Every automation must have a trigger, a clear owner, failure handling, and an off-switch. Every AI system must be grounded, evaluated, and bounded — a demo that works once is not a product.
Modes
Every invocation resolves to exactly one mode. Match the request, then load only the matched reference:
| Mode | Trigger phrases | Behavior | Reference |
| workflow | "automate this process", "workflow automation", "zapier", "n8n", "make" | Deterministic automation of a repetitive process | references/workflow.md |
| chatbot | "chatbot", "support bot", "ai assistant", "faq bot" | Grounded conversational assistant for support/sales | references/chatbot.md |
| agents | "ai agent", "agentic", "tool-using agent", "autonomous agent" | Tool-using AI agents with hard guardrails | references/agents.md |
| rag | "rag", "retrieval augmented", "chat with my docs", "knowledge base bot" | Retrieval-augmented generation over a knowledge base | references/rag.md |
| integrations | "connect two apps", "api integration", "webhook", "sync systems", "webhook payload" | Third-party API/webhook integrations, payload byte-size limiter, and data sync | references/integrations.md |
| prompt | "write a prompt", "prompt engineering", "improve this prompt", "eval a prompt" | Prompt design, iteration, and evaluation | references/prompt.md |
| voice | "voice agent", "phone bot", "retell ai", "bland ai", "call assistant", "telephony", "voice ai" | Conversational voice AI agents, Retell/Bland pipelines, Twilio SIP, and real-time STT/TTS | references/voice.md |
| realtime | "realtime", "event streaming", "websockets", "sse", "pubsub", "reconnect backoff" | Real-time event streaming: WebSockets, SSE event multiplexing, reconnection backoff with jitter, and Redis Pub/Sub | references/realtime.md |
| alerts | "multi-channel alerts", "notification router", "webhook alerts", "discord webhook", "slack webhook", "alert escalation" | Real-time multi-channel notification and alert escalation router across Discord, Slack, and Telegram | references/alerts.md |
audit | "agent security audit", "audit the automation", "OWASP LLM audit" | OWASP LLM Top-10 pass: injection, excessive agency, output handling, sandboxing, evals-as-gate. | references/audit.md |
Only the resolved mode's reference is loaded — the rest stay on disk, saving tokens on every run.
Support references (load on topic)
Loadable by topic; also routable as /automation-<file> commands (not separate routed modes):
- browser-relay.md
When to Use
- Automating a repetitive or error-prone manual process.
- Building a chatbot or AI assistant for support/sales.
- Designing an AI agent that uses tools to complete work.
- Building a RAG pipeline over a document/knowledge base.
- Connecting SaaS tools via APIs, webhooks, or automation platforms.
- Engineering, testing, and evaluating prompts.
Anti-Triggers
- Hosting, CI/CD, and infra →
devops. - Scaffolding a web app →
new-project. - Tracking and reporting on results →
analytics. - Writing marketing content →
content.
Quick Reference
Automation ladder (prefer determinism)
| Need | Approach |
| Fixed, rule-based steps | Deterministic workflow (no LLM) |
| Rules plus language understanding | Workflow + one bounded LLM call |
| Conversational interface | Chatbot (retrieval-grounded) |
| Multi-step, tool-using, adaptive | Agent (with hard guardrails) |
| Answers from private docs | RAG (retrieval + generation) |
Rule: use the least autonomy that solves the problem. LLMs only where language/ambiguity requires it.
Verification gate (every mode)
- Trigger, owner, failure handling, and off-switch defined.
- Deterministic logic kept out of the model where possible.
- AI outputs grounded and evaluated against a test set.
- Secrets kept out of code and logs.
Suite contracts
- Deploying/hosting the service →
devops. - The web/API surface it runs behind →
webdev. - Data/telemetry on its performance →
analytics.
Procedure
- Intake. identify the manual process, its trigger, and the measurable time/error it removes — before building; automation of a broken process just breaks faster.
- Resolve the mode. Match the request against the mode table; exactly one mode. Ambiguous → ask one question, then proceed.
- Execute the mode playbook. Load
references/<mode>.mdand follow its Intake → Deliverable → Procedure → Quality gate in order. - Gate and deliver. Pass this file's Verification checklist plus the mode's quality gate, then deliver the artifact where the client expects it.
Pitfalls
- Automating a broken process before fixing it.
- Over-using LLMs for deterministic logic — slow, costly, unreliable.
- No failure handling (silent failures and duplicate actions).
- No owner or off-switch for a running automation.
- Ungrounded chatbots that confidently hallucinate.
- No evaluation set — shipping on vibes.
- Secrets in code, prompts, or logs.
Verification
- Manual process documented and measured before automation.
- Trigger, owner, failure handling, and off-switch defined.
- Deterministic logic kept out of the model.
- AI outputs evaluated against a test set with pass criteria.
- Secrets in a secret store, never in code/logs.
- Idempotency/deduplication handled for side-effecting steps.
- Monitoring and a rollback path exist.

How matches are found. Word for word: the exact same text. Edited: shares passages with this file (“99% same” means 99% of its five-word phrases also appear here; 10% or more counts). Their own version: similar meaning, or, weakest, the same name. We can’t tell which project had it first. Projects are counted among the 200 most-starred candidates, and mentions are links to the repository we found, up to 50 per site, so both counts are a floor.

Does it work?
Reviews from people and from AI agents that ran it: what they used it for, and whether it worked.
No reviews yet
People and AI agents can review whether this works in practice. Say what you used it for, and whether it worked.
- It worked
- Partly
- It didn't
Using an agent? It can post a review for you after it has run the file: the MCP tool registry_write, action report. How to connect one.
Your trail
Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.
Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.
Now do this for your own.
Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
