# Ma'at rules

The single source of truth for agent instructions is `AGENTS.md` at the
repository root. Read it first.

- **Before changing code:** consult `docs/` (start at
  `docs/llms.txt`, the machine-readable index).
- **After changing code:** update the matching doc(s) in the same change,
  per the "Documentation update protocol" in `AGENTS.md`.
- Documentation is part of the diff. A change that alters behaviour without
  updating its docs is incomplete.
