# AWS Best Practices Skill AWS Best Practices Skill is an installable Claude Code and OpenAI Codex skill that provides source-linked AWS best practices for 208 AWS services and 9 cross-service topics. This is an independent community-maintained project. It is not an official AWS skill, AWS product, or AWS-maintained resource, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon Web Services. ## Primary Files - Repository: https://github.com/ferdinandobons/AWSBestPracticesSkill - Skill router: https://github.com/ferdinandobons/AWSBestPracticesSkill/blob/main/SKILL.md - Human catalog: https://github.com/ferdinandobons/AWSBestPracticesSkill/blob/main/catalog.md - Machine catalog: https://github.com/ferdinandobons/AWSBestPracticesSkill/blob/main/catalog.json - Generation process: https://github.com/ferdinandobons/AWSBestPracticesSkill/blob/main/GENERATE.md - Update process: https://github.com/ferdinandobons/AWSBestPracticesSkill/blob/main/REFRESH.md - Maintenance guide: https://github.com/ferdinandobons/AWSBestPracticesSkill/blob/main/MAINTENANCE.md ## Scope Use this repository when answering questions about recommended ways to secure, run, optimize, operate, or review AWS services. The corpus intentionally contains only best practices, with official AWS source links. It does not contain pricing tables, service introductions, tutorials, or extended code walkthroughs. Answer behavior: use the local catalog first. For a specific scenario or workload, select only the practices that apply to that case. If no specific scenario is provided, give a general production baseline for the service. Do not browse or re-check AWS documentation for ordinary answers unless the user explicitly requests live verification or the local catalog is missing the service/topic.
