An open-source, de-Googled Chromium with fingerprint controls compiled into the C++ engine, so a browser presents as one ordinary, coherent Chrome install — down to the TLS handshake. A drop-in for Playwright and Puppeteer: launch() returns a standard Playwright Browser. Windows x64 and Linux x64. ≈ “Common” is an estimate: at least 1 in 5 of the 3,225 llms.txt files we read have a rule of the same kind, not the same words. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

## Status
Pre-release, building in the open.
- Open build: Chromium 151 (151.0.7922.108, v0.1.0-pre.25) on GitHub Releases, Windows x64 + Linux x64, an official (optimized, DCHECK-free) build. New Chromium majors reach it roughly 2 months after release.
- Licensed build (Free with GitHub and Pro): new Chromium majors the day they are built, ahead of the open build; Pro can also pin older builds. Current version: https://clearcotelabs.com/llms.txt
- SDK: `clearcote` 0.46.0 on PyPI, npm and NuGet (Python, Node, .NET).
- Docker: `teamflatearth/clearcote` (tags `latest`, `0.1.0-pre.23`, `sdk-0.46.0`) — a CDP endpoint on :9222. Run it with `--shm-size=1g -p 127.0.0.1:9222:9222 --security-opt seccomp=<the profile from the image>`; see /docker/README.md.
- MCP server: `clearcote-mcp` (PyPI / npm). Profile Manager desktop app 0.12.2 (Windows + Linux): https://github.com/clearcotelabs/clearcote-profile-manager
## Quick start
pip install clearcote # or: npm install clearcote / dotnet add package Clearcote
from clearcote import launch
browser = launch(fingerprint="seed-123", platform="windows", geoip=True, humanize=True,
proxy={"server": "http://host:8080", "username": "u", "password": "p"})
page = browser.new_page(); page.goto("https://example.com")
Command line (SDK 0.46.0, Python and Node): `clearcote install`, `clearcote info` (checks the install, engine features, a launch test, licence seats), `clearcote login [key]`, `clearcote clear-cache`, `clearcote serve` (one CDP endpoint, many identities chosen per connection).
## Tiers
- Open source: no account, reproducible from public source, full engine-level fingerprint control.
- Free with GitHub: the licensed build — newest Chromium, recorded human motion, private stealth patches, profile library — free for ONE browser at a time, always on the latest build. Sign in at https://clearcotelabs.com with a GitHub account at least 30 days old and claim a key under Licenses; it renews every 30 days. Needs SDK 0.30.0+.
- Pro ($49/month): the same licensed build, plus older builds and version pinning, with up to 250 browsers at once (more on request; subscriptions started before 26 September 2026 keep their previous uncapped terms), plus email support from the owner.
Use a key with `CLEARCOTE_LICENSE_KEY=cc_lic_...`, `license_key=` / `licenseKey`, or `clearcote login`. The licensed build is not reproducible from public source; no tier unlocks more spoofing. Pricing: https://clearcotelabs.com/pricing
## Principles
- Open by default: readable patches, no proprietary blobs (the Widevine CDM is fetched on demand, never bundled).
- Engine-level controls, not injected JavaScript or CDP hooks.
- One coherent identity per seed (hardware, screen, GPU, fonts, locale, timezone, TLS), with per-site farbling for render surfaces.
- Reproducible and verifiable: pinned upstream, SHA-256 checksums, GPG-signed releases.
- Lawful, responsible use.

Your trail
Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.
Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.
Now do this for your own.
Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
