# Before / after recordings

When fixing a bug or adding a user-visible feature:

1. Record the affected interaction **before** changing code.
2. Apply the change.
3. Record the **same** interaction after.

Requirements:

- Real UI interaction (click, type, keyboard). A screenshot is not enough.
- Output H.264 `.mp4`, not `.webm`.
- Paths: `e2e/evidence/<issue-or-feature>/before-*.mp4` and `after-*.mp4`.
- Playwright `recordVideo` writes WebM; convert with `ffmpeg -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -movflags +faststart`.
- Do not commit recordings unless asked.
- If recording is unavailable, say so. Do not imply a video exists.
