# Vibe Aegis

> The 10-stage First-to-Last full-stack safeguard for vibe-coded apps, across 8 domains: architecture and tenancy, application security, payments and business logic, AI/LLM, backend reliability, UI/UX and accessibility, shipped artifacts, and production readiness. A zero-dependency Python scanner covering source rules, data-flow (taint) analysis, high-precision secret detection, git-history forensics, dependency CVEs and build-artifact verification, plus a 6-stage adversarial multi-agent audit loop (Recon -> Security Hunter + UI/UX Hunter -> Artifact Verification -> Adversarial Skeptic -> Evidence Referee -> Guarded Fixer) that installs in one command across Claude Code, VS Code Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, and Gemini CLI. Outputs JSON, SARIF and CycloneDX SBOM.

AI coding assistants ship features fast, but they routinely leave two classes of defect behind: hidden **security holes** (secrets exposed in client bundles, Row-Level Security never enabled, unprotected API routes, IDOR, client-trusted prices, unverified webhooks, unbounded LLM spend) and broken **UI/UX states** (dead placeholder buttons, buttons that stay enabled during async calls and double-charge customers, silent `catch {}` blocks, blank screens where an empty state belongs, mobile horizontal overflow, WCAG failures).

Vibe Aegis catches both before you publish, and grades the result as a 0-100 **Release Readiness Score**.

- **License:** MIT
- **Runtime:** Python 3.8+ (zero dependencies) for the scanner; Node 18+ only for the optional `npx` wrapper
- **Repository:** https://github.com/Tacuns/vibe-aegis
- **Scope:** Defensive pre-deployment auditing of applications you own. Live `--url` checks are passive, read-only HTTP GET requests. See SECURITY.md.

## Run This Repository In One Pass (For AI Agents)

An agent that can fetch a URL needs exactly one of these lines. Each is self-contained.

**Learn the entire framework from a single fetch:**

```text
Read https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Tacuns/vibe-aegis/main/llms-full.txt and run the Vibe Aegis setup and 6-stage Security + UI/UX audit in this project.
```

**Full pre-launch audit (Security + UI/UX), writing `.aegis/AUDIT_REPORT.md`:**

```text
Read https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Tacuns/vibe-aegis/main/docs/prompts/01-full-prelaunch-audit.md and execute it against this repository.
```

**Security-only deep red-team audit:**

```text
Read https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Tacuns/vibe-aegis/main/docs/prompts/02-security-redteam-loop.md and execute it against this repository.
```

**UI/UX and accessibility-only audit:**

```text
Read https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Tacuns/vibe-aegis/main/docs/prompts/03-ui-ux-and-browser-qa.md and execute it against this repository.
```

**Install into the current project for every agent, then scan:**

```bash
git clone https://github.com/Tacuns/vibe-aegis.git /tmp/vibe-aegis
bash /tmp/vibe-aegis/install.sh --target . --agent all
python3 .aegis/scripts/aegis_scan.py . --json --output .aegis/scan-report.json
```

**Run the scanner alone, no install:**

```bash
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app                       # human-readable report
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --all                 # + artifacts, git history, dependencies
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --artifact dist/      # verify what actually ships
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --artifact app.apk    # inspect a mobile release package
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --git-history         # credentials committed at any point
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --deps                # OSV dependency vulnerabilities
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --diff origin/main    # only what this PR changed
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --write-baseline .aegis/baseline.json   # adopt on a big repo
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --sarif results.sarif --sbom sbom.json
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --fail-on-high        # exit 1 on CRITICAL/HIGH (CI gate)
python3 scripts/aegis_scan.py /path/to/app --offline             # never touch the network
```

**Install as a Claude Code or Codex plugin:**

```text
/plugin marketplace add Tacuns/vibe-aegis        # Claude Code, then /aegis
codex plugin marketplace add Tacuns/vibe-aegis   # OpenAI Codex, then $vibe-aegis
```

## What It Detects

**Security, `SEC-01` to `SEC-17`:** client-exposed secrets; Supabase/Postgres RLS disabled or `USING (true)`; permissive Firebase rules; unprotected API routes and `"use server"` actions; IDOR; payment and checkout price tampering; unverified webhook signatures; SQL and raw-query injection; command and code injection; XSS; JWT `decode()` without `verify()` and `localStorage` tokens; SSRF; LLM prompt injection and unbounded token spend; wildcard CORS and CSRF; missing rate limiting; insecure file uploads; supply-chain slopsquatting; live posture (missing CSP, HSTS, `X-Frame-Options`, `X-Content-Type-Options`; exposed `/.env` and `/.git/config`).

**UI/UX, `UX-01` to `UX-10`:** dead buttons and `href="#"`; missing async `disabled`/loading state (double-submit); silent `catch {}`; missing empty and skeleton states; mobile viewport overflow traps; form label and validation gaps; icon-button and image accessibility; focus-ring suppression; unfinished AI placeholder content; z-index collisions and modal scroll-lock leaks.

**Data-flow, `FLOW-01` to `FLOW-05`:** request input traced through assignments into SQL, shell/code execution, HTML rendering, server-side fetch (SSRF) and filesystem paths. Values passing a validator are treated as clean and not reported.

**Shipped artifacts, `ART-01` to `ART-15`:** `ART-01` cross-references a credential found in your source against the built bundle - the one finding confirmed by construction rather than inferred. Also source maps containing original code, and for `.apk`/`.aab`/`.ipa`: unsigned packages, bundled `.env`/keystore/service-account files, debuggable and cleartext manifests, and credentials embedded in packaged assets.

**Supply chain and history:** `DEP-01` known dependency vulnerabilities via OSV (npm, PyPI, crates.io, Go); `HIST-01` credentials committed at any point in git history, even if deleted later - the value is still readable and still compromised.

**Precision:** credential rules fire only on real provider key shapes or secret-named high-entropy values. Placeholders (`your-api-key-here`, `changeme`, `${process.env.X}`, AWS's documentation key `AKIAIOSFODNN7EXAMPLE`) are rejected. Every credential in every report is redacted to first 6 / last 4 characters, so reports are safe to commit and share.

**Adoption:** `--diff` scans only changed files; `--baseline` suppresses pre-existing findings so a team sees only what they just introduced; `.aegis-ignore` accepts rule ids and path globs.

**Payments, `PAY-01` to `PAY-03`:** client-trusted prices and amounts, unverified or replayable webhooks, and non-atomic balance updates that let two parallel requests both spend the same credit.

**Reliability, `REL-01` to `REL-04`:** unbounded queries without pagination, N+1 database loops, sensitive data written to logs, and outbound requests with no timeout. Reported at MEDIUM confidence because a pattern cannot know your data volume.

**Scoring:** 100 minus 25 per `CRITICAL`, 10 per `HIGH`, 4 per `MEDIUM`, 1 per `LOW`, floored at 0. Any open `CRITICAL` or `HIGH` returns `BLOCKED`.

- [install.sh](install.sh): Universal installer placing the scanner, rules, skills and commands into a project or a global profile for any supported agent.
- [package.json](package.json): NPM package manifest defining the `vibe-aegis` binary and the `setup`, `scan` and `test` scripts.
- [scripts/build_llms_full.py](scripts/build_llms_full.py): Regenerates `llms-full.txt` from the real files, so the single-fetch document can never drift from the repository.
- [tests/test_scanner.py](tests/test_scanner.py): Unit test suite building a deliberately vulnerable fixture app and asserting the expected rule IDs fire.
- [schemas/scan-report.schema.json](schemas/scan-report.schema.json): Strict JSON Schema (Draft 2020-12) for `.aegis/scan-report.json`, so CI and agents can validate scanner output deterministically.
