Local, offline, deterministic observability for coding-agent sessions (Claude Code, Cowork and Desktop). orangu 0.7.2 reads the .jsonl transcripts already on your disk and turns them into a self-contained HTML report, a stable JSON API, cross-session aggregates, and a harness report of what your config declares vs what your sessions used (what your config declares vs what your sessions actually used). Optional Claude Code skills turn that evidence into reviewable proposals and receipts. The loop is observe -> see -> improve.

Concretely, you can:

- `npx orangu report` : build and open a self-contained HTML report for the latest session (`orangu report <id>` for another one, `orangu report current` for the session Claude Code is running in).
- `npx orangu serve` : a loopback (127.0.0.1) live viewer over every local session.
- `npx orangu repo` / `npx orangu global` : aggregate every session for one repository, or everywhere.
- `npx orangu harness` : declared skills, MCP servers, agents and hooks vs what sessions used or left idle, in tokens.
- `npx orangu analyze <id> --json` : the full analysis object (`--slim` for the projection LLM consumers read).
- `npx orangu pick` : choose a session from a list, running ones first, and open its report.
- `npx orangu list` / `watch` / `evidence` / `estimate` / `suggest` / `feedback` : listing, live-tail, bounded evidence for skills, sizing what an LLM would read, suggestion records, and a localhost feedback form.
- In Claude Code, after `/plugin marketplace add NissanOhana/orangu` and `/plugin install orangu`: `/orangu:analyze`, `/orangu:improve latest`, `/orangu:apply <sg_id>`, `/orangu:harness`, `/orangu:feedback`.

Facts an LLM should not get wrong:

- Tokens only. orangu never converts tokens into any other unit: no rates, no estimates in another unit, nothing with a symbol in front of it. Input, cache-read, cache-write and output tokens are its only usage metric because they are the only one the transcript records.
- No model in the measurement path. Parsing, redaction, counting, reconciliation, matching and ranking are plain code; the same transcript in gives byte-identical analysis out.
- Reports make zero network requests and ship `default-src 'none'`. Nothing is uploaded; there is no account, proxy, instrumentation, or telemetry.
- Redaction is on by default. Prompt and result text are omitted from shareable output unless `--include-text` is requested.
- Skills read `orangu ... --json` / `orangu evidence`, never the raw `.jsonl`.
- Proposals are never auto-applied. `/orangu:apply` runs only on an explicitly reviewed session or repo proposal; global (whole-harness) proposals are review-only.
- Quality, time and tokens are reported as separate axes. There is no composite score.
- It reads history retroactively: every session already on disk is analyzable the minute it is installed.

## Getting started

- Requires Node.js 20 or newer. Zero runtime dependencies.
- `npx orangu report` inspects the latest local session; `npx orangu serve` follows all of them live.
- Claude Code plugin: `/plugin marketplace add NissanOhana/orangu` then `/plugin install orangu`.
- [Sample report](https://nissanohana.github.io/orangu/sample.html): a synthetic, deterministic report you can open without installing anything.
- [Repository sample](https://nissanohana.github.io/orangu/sample-repo.html): the same synthetic corpus aggregated across sessions, as `npx orangu repo --html` writes it.

## Optional

- [llms-full.txt](https://nissanohana.github.io/orangu/llms-full.txt): README, usage and determinism docs concatenated (under 40 KB).
- [npm package](https://www.npmjs.com/package/orangu) and [GitHub repository](https://github.com/NissanOhana/orangu) (MIT).
