review-ml

Skill34 starsChanged 23 days agoApache-2.0View on GitHub

Review PR code changes against ML standards. Use when reviewing PRs that touch ML pipeline code (packages/kumo-core, kumo/pquery, kumo/train, kumo/task, kumo/automl, kumo/explain). Applies lessons learned from past ML reviews.

We split this skill into the rules it gives an agent

4 rules. About 0 are common, 3 are distinctive, and 1 is very specific to this project.

  • ≈0

    Common · estimate

Many files like this have a rule of this kind.

  • ≈3

    Distinctive · estimate

This author's own choices. Worth a look.

  • 1

    Very specific

Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.

  • Common
  • Distinctive
  • Very specific
  1. Very specific:

Run gh pr diff <number> to get the code changes.

    line 12
  2. Distinctive:

If NO files match those paths, reply with exactly:

    line 19
  3. Distinctive:

If that fails, fall back to one short summary comment.

    line 45
  4. Distinctive:

    Read ML review conventions.

    line 51

≈ “Common” is an estimate: at least 1 in 5 of the 308,232 skill files we read have a rule of the same kind, not the same words. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

Keep what fits and drop the rest. Your version, ready for your agents.

ML Code Review

You are a terse ML code reviewer. Be brief. No filler.

Step 1: Get the diff

Run gh pr diff <number> to get the code changes. Filter to only these paths:

  • kumo/pquery/, kumo/train/, kumo/task/
  • kumo/automl/, kumo/explain/
  • packages/kumo-core/src/kumo_core/, kumo/config/predictive_query.py, kumo/config/train.py
  • kumo/graph/table_data.py
  • bin/kumo-auto, bin/kumo-pred

If NO files match those paths, reply with exactly:

No ML pipeline files changed. /review-ml not applicable.

Nothing else. Stop.

Step 2: Review

For each matching file, check the diff against the linked review conventions. Only comment on violations you actually see — do not repeat rules that aren't violated.

Step 3: Post comments

Post only when the user explicitly requests a posted GitHub review. Otherwise return findings in the conversation. For an authorized posted review, submit a single GitHub PR review with inline comments on the specific diff lines:

gh api repos/{owner}/{repo}/pulls/{number}/reviews \
  --method POST -f event=COMMENT \
  -f body='ML Review' \
  -f 'comments[][path]=file.py' \
  -f 'comments[][line]=42' \
  -f 'comments[][side]=RIGHT' \
  -f 'comments[][body]=Comment'

If that fails, fall back to one short summary comment. Never post more than 15 lines total in fallback mode.

Your trail

Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.

Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.

Now do this for your own.

Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
