# Kurdyuk Lite > A charter-driven product-development framework for AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, and any agent that reads a project instructions file). It replaces free-form chat with a strict six-phase pipeline — Brief → Charter → Spec → Plan → Implement → Final Review — where a numbered "Charter" (the product's constitution) is the central artifact that every decision is checked against. Bash + Markdown, MIT-licensed, zero dependencies. Kurdyuk Lite installs as a marked contract block inside a project's `CLAUDE.md`, plus a `.kurdyuk-lite/` working folder. The agent advances one gated phase at a time, resumes from files instead of chat memory (so work survives `/compact` and new sessions), and flags any choice that violates a charter principle as a blocker. It is built for solo developers and founders building a product largely with an AI agent who want control and a decision trail instead of drift and scope creep. ## Documentation - [README](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/README.md): what it is, the job it closes (Jobs-to-be-Done), install, quick start, FAQ - [CLAUDE-contract.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/CLAUDE-contract.md): the canonical operating contract injected into a project — all 6 phases, gates, and rules in full - [concept.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/concept.md): the full methodology and a charter deep dive - [charter-for-charter.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/charter-for-charter.md): the 4 rules for writing a charter (no heuristics, no HOW, every principle is a test, write then cut) - [reference/example-charter.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/reference/example-charter.md): a complete worked charter example ## Translations - [README.ru.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/README.ru.md): Russian (Русский) translation of the README - [README.ja.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/README.ja.md): Japanese (日本語) translation of the README - [README.zh-CN.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/README.zh-CN.md): Simplified Chinese (中文) translation of the README ## Install - `git clone https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite.git ~/.kurdyuk-lite` - `~/.kurdyuk-lite/bin/kurdyuk-lite init .` injects the contract block + templates into the current repo (default target `CLAUDE.md`) - `~/.kurdyuk-lite/bin/kurdyuk-lite init . --agent codex|gemini|all` targets `AGENTS.md` / `GEMINI.md` for other agents - `~/.kurdyuk-lite/bin/kurdyuk-lite check .` reports drift (`UP TO DATE` when in sync) - One command (clone + init + verify + health): `curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/main/bin/kurdyuk-install | bash -s -- --agent claude .` - [BOOTSTRAP.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/BOOTSTRAP.md): agent self-install runbook — paste one line into any agent (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini) and it picks the matching `--agent`, clones, injects the contract, verifies, and reports a health verdict ## Key concepts - Charter: a numbered constitution (P1..PN; order = priority, lower number wins on conflict). Every design and implementation decision is checked against it; a violation is a blocker, not a debate. - Phase gate: each of the six phases ends with an explicit user "OK" before the next begins. No skipping, no combining. - Single context: runs on Claude Code alone — no multi-agent orchestration, no extra CLI tools required. - Artifacts over chat: project truth lives in `state.md` and `gate-log.md`, so a context loss never loses the thread. ## When to use - Best for 3–7 task, 1–2 session product work built with an AI agent. - For 8+ tasks or multi-session work with design-validation gates, split the work or use a heavier process. - For a one-line fix or quick refactor, no framework is needed. ## Optional - [MIGRATION.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/MIGRATION.md): upgrading a v2 Review-Cycle setup to v3 - [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md): how to propose changes - [CHANGELOG.md](https://github.com/LARIkoz/kurdyuk-lite/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md): version history
