## Install

- Claude Code: `/plugin marketplace add Kanevry/session-orchestrator` then `/plugin install session-orchestrator@kanevry` (afterwards run `npm install` once inside the plugin directory and restart Claude Code)
- Upgrade: `/plugin update session-orchestrator@kanevry`, then restart. Session-start warns when the RUNNING copy is behind the published npm version, and stays silent rather than claiming "up to date" when it cannot tell.
- Uninstall: remove the plugin through the harness's own plugin manager. `.orchestrator/` (bootstrap.lock, metrics JSONL, policy, steering), `STATE.md`, and the `## Session Config` block stay behind in the user's repo and are deleted by hand.
- Codex CLI: `git clone https://github.com/Kanevry/session-orchestrator.git ~/Projects/session-orchestrator && cd ~/Projects/session-orchestrator && npm install && node scripts/codex-install.mjs`
- Cursor IDE: same clone, then `node scripts/cursor-install.mjs /path/to/your/project`
- Pi: `pi install npm:session-orchestrator`
- Codex usage: select `$session-orchestrator:bootstrap` once per project, then `$session-orchestrator:session feature`, `$session-orchestrator:go`, and `$session-orchestrator:close` in the skill picker or a message. Requires a fresh task after plugin installation; review hooks through `/hooks`.
- Codex refresh: a Git marketplace uses `codex plugin marketplace upgrade kanevry` then `codex plugin add session-orchestrator@kanevry`; a local clone uses `git pull`, `npm install`, and `node scripts/codex-install.mjs`. Start a fresh task afterwards.

## Plan, Go, Close

Read the repository and agree the scope. Assign independent work, combine the changes and verify the result. Close with evidence and a record of unfinished work. The shape depends on the session type: housekeeping uses one wave, deep uses five, and the ultradeep profile uses seven. Parallel execution is available on Claude Code and Codex; Cursor and Pi execute sequentially. The landing page illustrates this with a CSV-export example, not a live session report.

## Platform limits and data

Claude Code runs guard hooks directly. Cursor and Pi use bridges with documented event limits and execute tasks sequentially. Codex CLI offers selectable workflow skills and parallel agents, but its destructive-command and file-scope rules are instructions only; the plugin does not enforce either guard there. With an active compatible scope hook on Claude Code, Cursor or Pi, strict blocks supported out-of-scope edits, warn reports them without denial, and off disables scope checking. The separate destructive-command policy defines 11 blocking and 4 warning rules; an active compatible hook is required to apply them.

macOS and Linux are covered by CI. Native Windows use is untested; shell hooks and the optional MCP server need WSL or Git Bash.

Optional telemetry is off until consent. By default, session-start checks the npm registry for updates. Successful results are cached for 24 hours per repository; a failed request or cache write may cause another request at the next session. SO_DISABLE_UPDATE_CHECK=1 or DO_NOT_TRACK=1 disables the check. The coding tool and configured VCS services use their own network connections. The website uses cookieless Vercel Web Analytics; see https://session-orchestrator.com/datenschutz.

Generated by `node scripts/site-numbers.mjs --write`; the machine-readable receipt is /_census.json. Facts outside the census, measured 2026-09-06 at bc49301b: 18 ADRs, 26 always-on rule files, 15 destructive-command policy rules (11 marked blocking, 4 marked warning; applied only by a compatible active hook), and 26 of the hook files plugin-wired across 10 event types. Also ships a portable cross-harness surface: root AGENTS.md (byte-identical generated copy of CLAUDE.md), .cursor-plugin/plugin.json (agent-plugins.org 1.0.0), and a .agents/skills/ mirror of every skill.

Repository session records describe development activity, not active users. Download counts include automated requests.
