--- description: Markdown formatting standards for clear, consistent documentation globs: "**/*.md" alwaysApply: false --- # Markdown Formatting Standards Keep your markdown files clean, consistent, and easy to read. ## Headings Use proper heading hierarchy: ```markdown # Main Title (only one per document) ## Major Section ### Subsection #### Details (rarely needed) ``` ## Lists Use consistent bullet formatting: ```markdown - Use hyphens for unordered lists - Keep items parallel in structure - Start each item with a capital letter 1. Use numbers for ordered lists 2. Keep numbering sequential 3. End with periods, not parentheses ``` ## Emphasis ```markdown **Bold** for important terms and concepts *Italic* for emphasis or foreign words `Code` for technical terms, filenames, and commands ``` ## Links and References ```markdown [Clear link text](url) - describe what you're linking to [Internal links](./folder/file.md) - use relative paths ``` ## Required Sections Every learning note should include: ```markdown # Title ## What I Learned Brief summary of key concepts ## Questions Things I want to understand better ## Next Steps What to explore or practice next ``` ## Writing Style - Keep sentences under 25 words - Use active voice when possible - Write in a conversational tone - Avoid technical jargon unless necessary
