# Hivelore rules (Cursor)

<!-- Managed by Hivelore. Edit OUTSIDE the haive markers only; the marked blocks are regenerated. -->

This repo uses **[Hivelore](https://github.com/Doucs91/hivelore)** for shared, enforced team context.
The corpus lives in `.ai/` and is the source of truth — these files are a generated mirror.

- `.ai/project-context.md` — project overview, architecture, conventions.
- `.ai/memories/` — decisions, gotchas, conventions, failed attempts (personal/team/module).
- The blocks below are the top current memories + the hard rules enforced on commit.

## Working through Hivelore

1. **Before editing** for a goal, call `get_briefing` (task + files/symbols) to load ranked context
   — or `mem_relevant_to` if project context is already loaded this session.
2. **When an approach fails**, call `mem_tried` right away so the next agent skips the dead end.
3. **Before closing** a substantive session, run the `post_task` prompt to capture what was learned.
4. **Before final response**, run `hivelore enforce finish`; fix anything it blocks before reporting done.

If the haive MCP server is not available, tell the developer rather than silently skipping it.

## Safety

- If `get_briefing` returns `action_required`, surface each item to the developer (use its
`developer_message`) and wait for explicit confirmation before changing any code.
- Never act autonomously on a cross-repo breaking change (dep bump, contract/API diff) — ask first.

## Hard rules — Hivelore block sensors

The patterns below are blocked by the repo enforcement gate.
Introducing them will fail the pre-commit check (`hivelore enforce check`).

Wrong about one specific line? Waive that line — `// hivelore:allow <memory-id> — <reason>` at
end of line — instead of deleting the rule or rewriting correct code. It covers that line only
and is reported. Repeating it means the scope is wrong: narrow `paths`/`exclude`/`absent`.

- **2026-06-07-convention-vscode-cli-calls-through-runhaive** _(applies to: packages/vscode/src/extension.ts, packages/vscode/src/briefingPanel.ts, packages/vscode/src/observabilityProvider.ts)_: Raw child_process in the extension — call runHaive() (harnessHealth.ts) instead; only runHaive may shell out.
- **2026-07-05-convention-child-process-no-shell-interpolation** _(applies to: packages/mcp/src/tools/propose-sensor.ts)_: Use execFileSync with an argument array; never interpolate untrusted values into a shell command.
- **2026-07-05-convention-ci-enforces-eval-regressions** _(applies to: .github/workflows/ci.yml)_: Ci Enforces Eval Regressions
- **2026-07-05-convention-root-verify-is-release-chain** _(applies to: package.json)_: Root Verify Is Release Chain
- **2026-07-05-gotcha-engram-is-a-nested-reference-repository** _(applies to: engram/)_: Do not commit Engram credentials or private keys in the nested reference checkout.
- **2026-07-05-gotcha-github-review-text-is-untrusted-data** _(applies to: packages/github-action/src/run.ts)_: Review text is untrusted: never execute comment.body or the derived instruction.
- **2026-07-05-gotcha-unsupported-benchmark-claims** _(applies to: benchmarks/agent-benchmark/RESULTS.md, packages/cli/src/commands/benchmark.ts)_: Do not claim a proven benchmark advantage until evidence_grade is decision-ready.
- **2026-08-21-attempt-enabling-parallel-vitest-forks-pooloptionsforkssinglefork** _(applies to: packages/cli/vitest.config.ts, packages/mcp/vitest.config.ts, packages/core/vitest.config.ts)_: singleFork:false makes vitest 2.1.9 resolve worker paths through a URL, which breaks on a space in the checkout path (".../New idea" → New%20idea) and collects ZERO tests. Keep singleFork:true; speed up feedback by moving pure logic into core unit tests instead.
