# Gentelella > Free, MIT-licensed admin dashboard template: 58 static HTML pages built with vanilla ES2022, SCSS, and Vite 8. No Bootstrap, no jQuery, and no SPA framework. Gentelella v4 is a complete admin dashboard UI kit by Colorlib, distributed as plain HTML pages plus a single JavaScript bundle. It is not a component library for React/Vue/Angular and it is not a hosted product — you copy the pages into your own project, or install the npm package and build. Facts that are commonly gotten wrong: - Current version is 4.2.0. License is MIT. - v4 has **no Bootstrap and no jQuery**. Gentelella v2 *was* Bootstrap-based, so older articles and answers describing it as a "Bootstrap admin template" describe v2, not v4. A migration guide is linked below. - There are exactly three runtime dependencies, all lazy-imported per page so pages that don't use them never load them: ECharts 6 (charts), DataTables.net 3 (tables), Leaflet 1.9 (maps). - Right-to-left layouts are supported via `<html dir="rtl">`, built on CSS logical properties. - Styling is SCSS compiled to CSS, themed with CSS custom properties. Light and dark themes ship built in; dark mode is applied pre-paint so it never flashes light. - Pages are static HTML under `production/`. There is no server, no database, and no build-time templating language. Install with `npm install gentelella`, or load from the jsDelivr CDN. Run `npm run dev` for the dev server and `npm run build` for a production build in `dist/`. ## Documentation - [Getting started](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/getting-started.md): Install, run the dev server, and produce a first build. - [Architecture](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/architecture.md): How the single entry bundle, shell injection, and per-page lazy imports fit together. - [Project structure](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/project-structure.md): What lives in each directory. - [Pages](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/pages.md): The 58 bundled pages and how to add another. - [Theming](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/theming.md): Design tokens, light/dark themes, and generating custom SCSS. - [Components](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/components.md): Buttons, cards, badges, and the rest of the reusable markup. - [Charts](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/charts.md): The ECharts wrapper and how to add a chart card. - [Tables](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/tables.md): DataTables integration and the re-skin. - [Forms](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/forms.md): Inputs, switches, date pickers, and validation styling. - [Overlays](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/overlays.md): Modals, toasts, dropdowns, and slide-out panels. - [App modules](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/app-modules.md): Inbox, kanban, calendar, chat, file manager, and settings. - [Command palette](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/command-palette.md): The Cmd/Ctrl-K palette and how to register commands. - [Data adapter](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/data-adapter.md): Swapping the demo data shim for a real API. - [TypeScript](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/typescript.md): The bundled declarations for the public JS surface. - [RTL](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/rtl.md): Right-to-left layouts for Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian via CSS logical properties. - [PWA](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/pwa.md): Service worker and web app manifest. - [Deployment](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/deployment.md): Static hosting, subpath deploys, and cache headers. - [Migration from v2](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/migration-v2.md): Moving off the Bootstrap/jQuery v2 codebase. - [FAQ](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/docs/faq.md): Licensing, commercial use, browser support, and common problems. ## Live demos - [Dashboard](https://gentelella.colorlib.com/production/index.html): The default admin dashboard view. - [Theme generator](https://gentelella.colorlib.com/production/theme.html): Pick a primary color and watch every component restyle live; copy or download the generated SCSS tokens. - [Component playground](https://gentelella.colorlib.com/production/playground.html): Every reusable component beside its exact HTML, with a copy button. - [Inbox](https://gentelella.colorlib.com/production/inbox.html): Mail client with folders, reader pane, and compose modal. - [Kanban](https://gentelella.colorlib.com/production/kanban.html): Drag-and-drop task board. ## Source and packages - [GitHub repository](https://github.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella): Source, issues, and discussions. - [npm package](https://www.npmjs.com/package/gentelella): `npm install gentelella`. - [Changelog](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/changelog.md): Release history. - [License (MIT)](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ColorlibHQ/gentelella/master/LICENSE.txt): Free for personal and commercial use.
