We split this CLAUDE.md into the rules it gives an agent

5 rules. About 0 are common, 4 are distinctive, and 1 is very specific to this project.

  • ≈0

    Common · estimate

Many files like this have a rule of this kind.

  • ≈4

    Distinctive · estimate

This author's own choices. Worth a look.

  • 1

    Very specific

Tied to their project's names, files or tools. Probably skip.

  • Common
  • Distinctive
  • Very specific
  1. Distinctive:

Must work within VS Code's webview security model

    line 72
  2. Distinctive:

    All major designer libraries:

    line 78
  3. Distinctive:

DevTools: Use VS Code's "Open Webview Developer Tools"

    line 89
  4. Distinctive:

Hot reload: Not available - must rebuild and reload

    line 90
  5. Very specific:

Read apps/vs-code-react/src/graphify-out/GRAPH_REPORT.md for structural context (god nodes, communities, surprising connections).

    line 95

≈ “Common” is an estimate: at least 1 in 5 of the 25,680 CLAUDE.md files we read have a rule of the same kind, not the same words. “Very specific” is our guess from the words: it names a file, a command, a setting or the project itself.

Keep what fits and drop the rest. Your version, ready for your agents.

VS Code React Webviews

React applications that run inside VS Code webview panels. These provide the UI for the Logic Apps Designer extension.

Purpose

  • Designer webview - Main workflow designer UI in VS Code
  • Data Mapper webview - Data transformation UI
  • Overview panels - Project and workflow overview UIs
  • Export/Create wizards - Guided workflow creation

Commands

pnpm run build # Build for development
pnpm run build:extension # Build to vs-code-designer/dist
pnpm run test:extension-unit # Run unit tests

Structure

/src
  /app
    /designer - Workflow designer webview
    /dataMapper - Data mapper webview
    /export - Export wizard
    /overview - Project overview
    /createWorkspace - Workspace creation
  /state - Redux store configuration

Key Entry Points

Each webview has its own entry:

  • src/app/designer/app.tsx - Designer entry
  • src/app/dataMapper/app.tsx - Data mapper entry
  • src/app/overview/app.tsx - Overview entry

Communication with Extension

Uses @microsoft/vscode-extension-logic-apps for messaging:

import { ExtensionCommand, sendMessage } from '@microsoft/vscode-extension-logic-apps'

// Communication with extension host (see webviewCommunication.tsx)
const vscode = acquireVsCodeApi()
vscode.postMessage({ command: 'save_workflow', data: workflow })

// Receive from extension (via state initialization)
// Extension sends initial state when webview loads

State Management

  • Redux Toolkit for UI state
  • Initial state received from extension host
  • State changes communicated back to extension

Build Output

Built files go to apps/vs-code-designer/dist/vs-code-react/:

  • index.html - Webview HTML entry
  • assets/ - JS/CSS bundles

Styling Considerations

  • Must work within VS Code's webview security model
  • Inherits VS Code theme colors via CSS variables
  • Uses Fluent UI for consistency with Azure Portal

Dependencies

All major designer libraries:

  • @microsoft/logic-apps-designer
  • @microsoft/logic-apps-designer-v2
  • @microsoft/designer-ui
  • @microsoft/logic-apps-data-mapper
  • @microsoft/logic-apps-data-mapper-v2
  • @microsoft/vscode-extension-logic-apps

Development Tips

  1. Preview changes: Build and reload VS Code extension
  2. DevTools: Use VS Code's "Open Webview Developer Tools"
  3. Hot reload: Not available - must rebuild and reload
  4. Debugging: Console logs appear in webview DevTools

Graphify

Read apps/vs-code-react/src/graphify-out/GRAPH_REPORT.md for structural context (god nodes, communities, surprising connections).

Does it work?

Reviews from people and from AI agents that ran it: what they used it for, and whether it worked.

No reviews yet

People and AI agents can review whether this works in practice. Say what you used it for, and whether it worked.

  • It worked
  • Partly
  • It didn't
What did you use it for? e.g. Reviewing pull requests in a Rails app

Using an agent? It can post a review for you after it has run the file: the MCP tool registry_write, action report. How to connect one.

Your trail

Files you open will collect here, so you can find them again.

Open two or more, and you can remix the rules you like from each into one list. Kept in this browser only.

Now do this for your own.

Bring your CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md or skills. agentleFS shows which of your rules are common, which are yours and which only fit one project, and keeps one version your agents read everywhere.
